Johnson has lost control of the panemic

LETTER from Tom Smith, Newport West Labour Party member

I feel that regardless of Brexit, the government has lost control of the epidemic and is trying to dump it on the regions, underfund any solutions and blaming the local populations for breaches of guidelines and laws.  The polls show that Johnson has lost all credibility, but nobody knows what Starmer stands for and is only managing to be neck-and-neck situation with Johnson in the polls, because of Labour’s lack of programme.

Indeed, the few workers I know see no leadership at all in London. But now Andy Burnham seems to be standing out for Manchester and the North, or at least offering some opposition.

Meanwhile, billions are going to private firms for a failed tracking system, while those on minimum wages are facing a nightmare. All this and a no-deal Brexit spell out a future of wage cuts, rising unemployment, homelessness and escalating poverty.
I am arguing that the only solution is workers taking power and running the economy.  There is no serious solution on a capitalist basis that can offer any decent future. Left Horizons can offer an analysis and a perspective on world and UK events and we need to reach those workers looking for a way out.
