Letter from Bob Edwards, Harlow Labour member.
The no-confidence vote in Boris looks like a well-timed diversion! It’s a handy distraction from a real crisis in the cost of living. Petrol is about to go to £2 a litre, when only two years ago it dipped to £1 a litre. Food and other prices are going through the roof: eggs I’ve just bought have gone up 29%, butter 70%, milk 25%. Meat has gone up, bread likewise. My heating bill was £54 a month, now it’s £130! Enough said. But the problem is that even though Boris Johnson is so toxic, is Sir Keir any more attractive? We’ll find out on June 23rd. We are living in a seething cauldron and it will erupt soon.
